All Together Towards the Future With 4C MEETING IN FINLAND

All Together Towards the Future With 4C

From April 21 to 25, the fifth meeting was held in Finland, entitled All Together Towards the Future With 4C. It was with great pleasure that Ruskilan koulu Nakkilan kunta welcomed the partners from Lithuania, Portugal, Italy, Spain and Turkey.

On the first day of the meeting, after a warm welcome, we visited the host school, Ruskilan koulu Nakkilan kunta, where several workshops were held for the students while the teachers visited the Päiväkoti kindergarten. After a tour of the city of Nakkila and surroundings, the day ended with playing in the snow.

On the second day, we visited the Nakkilan yhteiskoulu school, in Nakkila, during the morning, where we were welcomed by the local education authorities and watched a dance show. After lunch, we headed to Pori where we visited the robot laboratory at the Satakunnan Ammattikoulu University, Samk, strolled through the city and ended up at Yyteri Park where the students tried some radical activities and strolled along the beach.

On the third day, the morning was spent getting to know the country life with a visit to the Muu Maa minifarm Koivuniemen Herra where we got to know the animals and a bit of their routines. It was very funny! In the afternoon we got to know a bit of the coast of the Gulf of Bothnia and we made a brief visit to an ice hockey rink. We ended the day with games at Ruskila’s school.

On the fourth day, the morning was spent in the Kokemäki Pitkäjärvi Park where the students took part in a fun circuit, played and alternated between the Finnish sauna and the dip in the frozen lake. After lunch, we took a ride in vintage cars around the city of Nakkila and surroundings.

In the evening, there was a gala dinner where we watched a musical and dance show and the certificates were handed out.

On the fifth and final day, we started the morning with a brief visit to the Villilä Film Studio. We then headed to the ancient city of Rauma, where we were welcomed at the Department of Teacher Education and visited the “Old Rauma Nordic Wooden Town”, a UNESCO cultural heritage site.

Thus ended our wonderful adventure for the students and teachers who represented each partner in this beautiful country.
